NOVEMBER 2022

A SPIRITED NOVEMBER-2022

November went by in a flash with back-to-back events right through the month.

It all started on the 4th with an in-house training for Dog handlers. The Pet group has been doing their best trying out different methods to help the handlers understand pet behaviour. Despite poor attendance of owners and handlers at these sessions, the group strives on…kudos to them for their ‘dogged’ perseverance!

The next day was the much awaited Annual Diwali Party. A festive riot of color, music &  dance. Ticketing is always tricky, but handled deftly  by Afsha, Kritika, Geetu with Hema to guide them. The very fancy decor was done by Prema, Lavanya, Asha and Bindu. They took it to another level altogether. On her own Shalini managed the peppy music & items on the menu. Craftworks lives up to the occasion year after year and never disappoints. Lip smacking snacks, mains and desserts. With everyone in ‘high spirits’, literally and metaphorically,  it was an evening to remember.

Then for a whole fortnight starting Halloween eve we had the first ever Windmills Film Fiesta. An array of carefully chosen age-appropriate films were screened. From famous Japanese animation to this years top two Hollywood box office hits. We screened it all! It not only was a way to get together but it also bought into focus the wonderful facility that we have, which is there for us to use as and when we want.

On the heels of the Film Fiesta, the Pet committee came up with a novel way to collect funds to help focus on safety and awareness. They called the event ‘Mix and Mingle’. We saw Heather’s charcuterie board expertise at the Camp Out earlier this year. She demonstrated her skills in her home and taught a few of us the do’s and dont’s of assembling cheese boards. Afsha, Apeksha, Aanika and Megan spiced up the event with delicious bakes and drinks. we had a great time and it was for a good cause too.

The last event for the month on the 26th was for pet safety training. Again great effort by the committee but tepid response in terms of attendance from dog owners/handlers.

In all this we do not forget to express our appreciation for the help and unstinted support that we get from PMD to organise each and every event. Always ready to assist,  they go all out to help make each event a success.

With that we bid November goodbye…..and look forward to Xmas festivity in December.

Seasons Greetings

Roma Singh.
