Eco-friendly!
Like it is done year-on-year, Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated in Windmills with immense enthusiasm and fervor, bringing everyone together in the true spirit of the festival.
Planning began weeks in advance, with dedicated committees coordinating every detail.
The team in-charge of decor went a step ahead using only plant-based and recycled materials to create a new, fresh & eco-friendly look. They got artisans from Kerala who worked round the clock to using tender coconut leaves and banana stems to decorate the entrance and pandaal. In addition, with artistic flair the ladies transformed old sun boards into terracotta panels on which they painted traditional kolam designs. They even hand painted details on the statue of Ganesha. The entire look adhered to the theme of an eco-friendly celebration.
Windmillers participated in various ways—whether it was contributing to logistics, collecting funds, or preparing for cultural events eg. The song & dance performances.
Ganesh Chathurthi was a vibrant and colorful start to the festive season, with every aspect thoughtfully arranged.
We extend heartfelt thanks to the organizers for their tireless efforts in making the three-day celebration such a success that once again we look forward to the arrival of Ganesha in 2025.

To the many volunteers who supported this year's Ganesha celebration.
The success of these events depends on the participation of individuals from within our community. If you have lived at Windmills for 6 years or for 6 months and have a special talent, skill, or time to offer, we encourage you to volunteer for the next event. New residents are especially welcome; it's a great way to get to know your neighbors and celebrate a special event in the life of our community.
