OKTOBERFEST WINDMILLS STYLE!

One has to admire the ability of children to enjoy & live in the moment.

Young Windmillers had their own Oktoberfest this year.

A trilogy of fun filled events.

It started with the toddlers celebrating Halloween a fortnight ahead.

They had a fun fair in the main hall.  Every nook and corner was decorated, there were many activities, games, face-painting and plenty of candy. Kids ran around in costumes trying one thing or the other. It started early and ended in time to get home and get ready for dinner. Though I doubt any of them ate after having their little tummies filled with goodies. A complete riot.

A day before Halloween the Windmills Film Fiesta started with the screening of  a block buster Studio Ghibli anime feature - Kiki’s Delivery Service. The protagonist was a sweet teenage witch-in-training who portrays the gulf between independence and reliance. The movie was screened in the Main Hall with ground seating. The kids brought in their cushions & mats along with snacks and drinks to make it a perfect cosy movie experience. At interval, a mom and dad decided to surprise their son whose birthday it was, to treat all present with cup cakes. So everyone sang for him making it a very special occasion. It was a lovely evening and the children left feeling as if it was a private screening in a very casual relaxed way.

Then of course, the big day dawned.Halloween!  Children assembled in the central lawn in the most original costumes. It was a complete treat to see them enjoy themselves so much. After a photo shoot they paraded in the club house before they ran out in groups for trick or treat. Guess I will let the photos speak for themselves.
